About Blyton Dahl International Preschool

Blyton Dahl International Preschool has been designed with the child at heart, specifically to meet 21st Century educational needs and to develop articulate, caring and future global citizens. Our educational philosophy and implementing practices are founded in the International Early Years Curriculum, supported by findings from educational neuroscience and enveloped within a culture of extraordinary care and social emotional development. Innovation and creativity are prudent, thereby encouraging children to be courageous and think differently.

Our learning program is supported by the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB)  and the Montessori whose aim is to ‘develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect’.

We look forward to meeting you and explaining more about what Blyton Dahl International Preschool can offer you and your child.

Blyton Dahl International Programs

During this stage, toddlers will show greater independence; begin to show defiant behaviour; recognise themselves in pictures or a mirror; and imitate the behaviour of the others, especially adults and older children. Toddlers also should be able to recognise the names of familiar people and objects, and are encouraged to discover the world around them, under our watchful eyes.
During this stage, toddlers should be able to follow two- or three-step directions, sort objects by shape and colour, imitate the actions of adults and playmates, and express a wide range of emotions. Again, children are offered the opportunity to learn by interacting with the world around them and enjoy story-time and imitation style games and activities, especially those including counting and literacy. Students begin to learn phonic sounds for the alphabet.
During this stage, children will be further developing classroom skills and manners, building on their basic numeracy skills, through the first stages of the IB PYP, and beginning to read by learning alphabet phonic sounds and reading Oxford Reading Tree Stage 1. We usually see significant development in terms of vocabulary, language and communication at this level.
At this level, students are moving away from being toddlers and growing into young primary students. Literacy-skills development continues with Oxford Reading Tree Stages 1 & 2, Classroom habits, social interaction and good behaviour are all very important while each child’s natural curiosity is celebrated, and capitalised in each unit of the IB PYP, preparing them perfectly for entering primary level study.
Children in this grade engage in the first stage of the Cambridge International Primary Programme, which is reinforced with the 21st Century Skills practiced throughout the IB PYP programme of inquiry. Literacy is further developed through Oxford reading tree stages 3,4 & 5. Children who are academically strong enough can even skip this stage and enter straight into G1 at Royal British International School.
